Love how you drew the parallel between golf and investing. The mix of highs and lows makes the journey so addictive, doesn’t it? That single win(a birdie or a multi-bagger) keeps us coming back for more, hoping to replicate that magic.

Your approach to managing market volatility is exactly what many of us need to hear right now. It's easy to get caught up in the fear and doom scrolling, but your reminder about focusing on what we can control, like having cash for essentials and sticking to a well-thought-out plan is invaluable.

Just read the 2 comments below and agree with all that is stated here. If nothing else I have learned the amount of time and effort I want to commit to being a good investor. This has allowed me to be strategic and tune out much of the noise. It's just part of what I do, not the 'thing' I do, and I am more comfortable with this distinction as I go forward. Believe it or not, it's kind of fun!

“Resting bitch face” lol 😝

For sure, it is just your money not your life.

Trading can change your hormones and alter decision making. Make sure you have processes to cope. Mediation, sports, biofeedback are things I have found helpful.

RBF - yes, a few years ago my daughter told me that I had it...she had to explain it to me. LOL. Love the book suggestion. Making a note of it for my next trip coming up in March. Thanks!

I too golfed for alittle bit. Having a neighbor as a professional I've seen it's not my game! Understanding who your are as an investor is as important and your time and effort to invest. Sometime reading the different articles, blogs and videos can make me feel dumb. "WHY don't I know this? How can I use it?" Among plenty of other questions.

But just settling back and remembering (?) that it's my ride and plans and to enjoy it. There's good days and bad, fortunately more good than bad.

No one will make make a movie about how I operate, but the portfolio does well, lessons are learned and I continue to get better.

Thanks for your work and newsletter. I enjoy reading it and have found it a great resource, not just for the investment information, but the thoughts behind everything.
